Here's an interesting study: Take 5263 Swiss students (2439 females), who use either cannabis, tobacco, both or neither, and see how well they do at school and home.
The results show that cannabis-only student, compared to abstainers, were:
- More likely to get better grades, do sports, have a good relationship with their friends, as well as be truant, get drunk in the last month, and use other illegal drugs in last month
- Less likely to report a good relationship with their parents
The students who did were the worst were ones who used both cannabis and tobacco, and researchers believe that they are the most at risk.
Does this mean doing cannabis is a good way to get good grades?
The researchers are advising caution: at the moment, we just don't know what regular marijuana use does to the brain. But then again scientists say the same about mobile phones, but people still use them.
